President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has suggested that the People’s Republic of China may move toward recognizing Kosovo in the near future.

Speaking during a panel titled “ADFTalks” at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2025, Osmani emphasized that while Serbia and Russia have been active in spreading anti-Kosovo propaganda, China has taken a more neutral stance.

“Of course, we need to counter Serbian and Russian propaganda—they go hand in hand. China hasn’t recognized us yet, but they haven’t been actively working against us either. Their role has been more abstentionist than oppositional. That’s why I would expect China to advance more quickly toward recognition. From Russia and Putin, however, I don’t expect anything good—for Kosovo or the world,” Osmani said, as reported by Klan Kosova.

She added that Kenya was the most recent country to recognize Kosovo, bringing the total number of recognitions to 118, and expressed confidence that this process would continue.

On the topic of Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Osmani reiterated that it is a dialogue between two sovereign states, and the only acceptable conclusion is mutual recognition.

Osmani also praised the strong support Kosovo has received from the United States and Turkey, personally thanking Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan:

“President Erdoğan is an extraordinary friend to our country. The people of Kosovo are deeply grateful and we look forward to continuing cooperation with him, his government, and the Turkish people who always show love and support for Kosovo.”

The Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2025 (ADF2025) is organized by Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and held under the patronage of President Erdoğan. This year’s theme is “Rebuilding Diplomacy in a Fragmented World.”
