Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said on December 4 that during her meetings in Brussels with senior European Union officials, she called for cooperation and emphasized that the focus should be on preventing “new terrorist attacks,” following the attack in Zubin Potok.

On November 29, the Ibar-Lepenc canal in Zubin Potok was attacked with explosive devices. Kosovo has labeled the explosion as a terrorist attack and has blamed Serbia for it.

Belgrade has denied any involvement and condemned the attack.

The European Union has also condemned the attack, calling it a “terrorist act” and a “sabotage” of Kosovo’s critical infrastructure.

Osmani spoke to the press after her meetings with the new President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, and then with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.

Osmani stated that these discussions included the recent attack in Zubin Potok on the water channel and the new risks that Kosovo might face from potential future attacks.

She also reiterated Kosovo’s full willingness to invite international partners to participate in the investigations into the November 29 explosion.
