President Vjosa Osmani has informed the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo, Anu Prattipati, about Serbia’s ongoing efforts to destabilize Kosovo.
According to a statement from the Presidency, in a meeting on Monday, Osmani and Prattipati discussed the arrests of Serbian citizens in Gjakova and Prizren, who claimed they were on a pilgrimage.
“Speaking about the security situation and developments in this area, President Osmani emphasized Serbia’s continuous attempts to destabilize Kosovo and the entire region through coordinated actions with illegal structures and Serbian criminal gangs. President Osmani discussed with Ms. Prattipati the recent arrests of Serbian citizens in Gjakova and Prizren, who claimed to be on a pilgrimage. However, investigations to date have shown that these groups were linked to Serbian military intelligence structures and members of the Banjskë terrorist group,” the statement said.
Osmani described this action as “part of Serbia’s ongoing effort to destabilize Kosovo through threats and violence.”
She stated that this constitutes an unacceptable interference in the sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo.
The President added that Kosovo will not tolerate any interference that threatens peace, constitutional order, and the security of all its citizens, regardless of their affiliation.
Osmani and Prattipati also discussed strengthening the strategic alliance with the U.S.
