On the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani called for justice, stressing that 1,584 citizens of Kosovo remain missing.
In a Facebook post, Osmani wrote:
“Behind every number lies a life cut short, a family that for more than two decades has been waiting for justice for their loved ones.”
She highlighted the importance of memory and justice, adding:
“The open graves are living evidence of war crimes and the repeated crime by the genocidal Serbian regime, as well as a daily reminder that justice has not yet been served. As long as thousands of our citizens remain missing, peace remains incomplete.”
The President also condemned Serbia’s stance:
“Vučić’s regime continues to sleep over mass graves, holding hostage the truth about the fate of the missing.”
Making a direct appeal to the international community, Osmani stated:
“It is time for international partners to increase the pressure on Serbia, because only uncovering the fate of the missing and delivering justice can give families the peace they deserve.”
