President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, stated that during her meeting with U.S. Congress members, she discussed various issues, focusing on security and defense.
Osmani emphasized that Kosovo is the most pro-American country in the region and has never had an anti-American government.
“Today I had the honor of welcoming two U.S. Congress members to Kosovo. Both have long supported Kosovo and the wider region and continue to contribute to peace and stability. We discussed bilateral cooperation between Kosovo and the U.S., developments in security and defense, our NATO integration efforts, the security challenges we face, and how we can coordinate more closely with the U.S. to achieve successful integration of the Serbian community in Kosovo,” Osmani said.
Responding to diplomat Philip Reeker, who stressed the importance of a government that cooperates with the United States, Osmani affirmed:
“Kosovo has never had and will never have an anti-American government. Each government has its methods of working with partners, but Kosovo has always had and will continue to have the most pro-American government possible, reflecting the strong pro-American stance of our people. Regarding my work as president, I assure you that I have maintained and will continue to maintain close cooperation with the United States, which I see as an existential partner in Kosovo’s development, the protection of our freedom and independence, and overcoming security challenges.”
