After meeting with Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani spoke to the media, highlighting Latvia’s strong partnership with Kosovo. She emphasized that Latvia fully understands Kosovo’s position, given their shared painful history and proximity to aggressive neighboring states.
Osmani further stated that Kosovo’s future in the European Union is crucial not only for Kosovo but also as a precondition for a free and peaceful Europe. She thanked Latvia for its unwavering support, especially in Kosovo’s bid for international organization memberships.
“Latvia, like Kosovo, has experienced a difficult past and shares borders with aggressive neighboring countries. Both our countries are deeply committed to Euro-Atlantic values. Kosovo truly needs champions like you. Kosovo’s future in the EU is vital not just for us but remains a prerequisite for a complete and peaceful Europe,” Osmani concluded.
