Osmani Leaves the Presidential Office After 5 Years

After a five-year term as the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani officially left the Presidential Office today. She handed over the responsibilities to the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, who will serve as acting president until a new head of state is elected.

During a formal state ceremony, the presidential staff bid farewell to Osmani, who expressed her satisfaction at transferring the role to a woman, highlighting the importance of female participation in the leadership of the country’s institutions.

Haxhiu will officially assume the role from midnight tonight, beginning her duties as acting President of Kosovo.
