Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani held an emotional meeting with Mother Ferdonije at the Çerkezi family museum house in Gjakova to mark the 26th anniversary of the forced abduction of her husband and four sons by the genocidal Serbian regime.
In a post on Facebook, Osmani described this day as a moment to honor the memory of the victims of Serbia’s crimes and emphasized that together with Mother Ferdonije, she met with other mothers from Gjakova, who had lost their loved ones due to Serbia’s heinous crimes.
Osmani highlighted that the remains of two of Mother Ferdonije’s sons have been found, but the fate of her husband and two other sons remains unknown. However, she praised Mother Ferdonije’s strength and resilience, saying that her pain has been transformed into strength and has become a cause for justice.
The President concluded by stating that Mother Ferdonije’s pain and cause belong to all of Kosovo, emphasizing that the entire nation is committed to seeking justice for the victims of these atrocities.
