President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, met yesterday with the President of Singapore, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, on the margins of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Osmani said she proposed that Singapore abolish visa requirements for citizens of Kosovo, adding that they also discussed opportunities for economic cooperation.

“Following our first meeting in Singapore, yesterday in Davos I had the pleasure of meeting once again with the President of Singapore, Tharman Shanmugaratnam. We discussed our excellent bilateral relations, opportunities to intensify economic cooperation, as well as coordination in the international arena. Following the liberalization of visas for our citizens holding diplomatic and official passports, I proposed that the next step be full visa liberalization for all our citizens—an important move that would further strengthen cooperation between our two countries and bring our peoples closer together,” Osmani wrote.

She added that they also discussed the organization of a joint economic forum and emphasized the importance of opening new chapters of cooperation between the two countries in multiple areas of mutual interest.
