President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has concluded an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where Syria officially recognized the Republic of Kosovo — a major diplomatic achievement Osmani described as the result of “allied mediation and support.”
According to the Presidency of Kosovo, President Osmani held a series of high-level bilateral and multilateral meetings during her stay in Riyadh, marking a significant milestone in strengthening Kosovo’s international position and opening new avenues for cooperation.
Among her most notable engagements, Osmani met with Donald Trump Jr., the American businessman and son of U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as with global political leaders, investors, and international officials.
A key highlight of the visit was the trilateral meeting between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, President Osmani, and Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa, during which Syria’s official recognition of Kosovo was finalized. This development represents a historic step in Kosovo’s international consolidation and diplomatic expansion.
During her visit, President Osmani met with:
- Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, reaffirming gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s continued support and exploring cooperation in renewable energy, tourism, agriculture, education, and digital innovation.
- President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani of Mauritania, discussing mutual diplomatic relations.
- President Rumen Radev of Bulgaria, focusing on the lifting of unfair EU measures against Kosovo.
- Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah of Jordan, with talks centered on defense, trade, and ICT collaboration.
- Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Governor of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), exploring strategic investments in Kosovo.
- Talal Almarri, Executive Director of Expo 2030 Riyadh, confirming Kosovo’s participation in the global event.
She also met with Rwandan President Paul Kagame, Guyanese President Mohamed Irfaan Ali, Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
In addition, President Osmani participated in the Future Investment Initiative (FII), where she spoke at the Leaders’ Roundtable on the topic “What is the cost of economic security?” — addressing the importance of innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable growth for emerging economies.
The visit concluded with a state dinner hosted by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, where President Osmani was received with military honors.
In her exclusive interviews with Al Arabiya and Arab News, President Osmani discussed Kosovo’s growing international partnerships and the strategic roadmap for future cooperation between Pristina and Riyadh.
