Just before her pivotal meeting with Kosovo’s political party leaders, President Vjosa Osmani received Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy, Anu Prattipati, for a closed-door discussion at the Presidential Office.

According to a statement from the Presidency, the two discussed the urgent need for the swift constitution of Kosovo’s institutions, emphasizing the growing consequences of the ongoing political deadlock, which has left the country without a fully functioning Assembly for over a month.

The meeting also covered concrete areas of bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Kosovo and the United States, particularly in the fields of diplomacy and defense.

Later today, at 1:00 PM, President Osmani is scheduled to meet with leaders of the Albanian parliamentary parties to seek a resolution to the stalemate. At 3:00 PM, she will host minority party leaders, continuing her efforts to unblock the political gridlock and pave the way for a new government.

This diplomatic engagement underlines the strong partnership between Kosovo and the United States, as well as the international concern over the delay in institutional formation.
