The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, today met with Arthur Erken, the Regional Director of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for Europe and Central Asia.
The Presidency announced that during this meeting, Osmani expressed her gratitude for the ongoing and invaluable contribution of IOM in Kosovo over the past 25 years, especially during the post-war period when assistance in the country’s reconstruction, migration, and humanitarian aid was crucial for the citizens.
Osmani and Erken also discussed cooperation on initiatives aimed at empowering women economically, creating an attractive labor market for them, and supporting the creation of a favorable business environment for young people.
They also talked about the role and contribution of the diaspora, improving the quality of life to prevent waves of migration.
“President Osmani reaffirmed her willingness to support IOM and further strengthen the partnership to create sustainable and effective policies in the field of migration and social integration,” the Presidency’s statement said.
