President Osmani met with representatives from institutions and organizations involved in uncovering the fate of those forcibly disappeared during the war, to discuss the establishment of the Presidential Commission for Transitional Justice.
According to a statement from the presidency, Osmani held a meeting with representatives from institutions and various organizations engaged in determining the fate of persons forcibly disappeared during the last war in Kosovo. The discussion focused on the preparations of the President’s Office concerning the establishment and functioning of the Presidential Commission for Transitional Justice, which stems from the Transitional Justice Strategy of the Republic of Kosovo.
“The attendees reiterated the request for the approval of the Draft Law on Missing Persons, so that the needs of the families of the disappeared can be addressed. At the same time, they confirmed their readiness to cooperate closely with the President’s Office in the establishment and functioning of the Presidential Commission,” the statement said.
The Head of State expressed gratitude for the commitment of the attendees in clarifying the fate of the forcibly disappeared and reaffirmed her support for this important process.
