President Vjosa Osmani has called for the swift arrest of the perpetrators of the triple murder in Gjilan, adding that “it is regrettable that last year the same individuals were released by justice institutions after spending only a short time in pre-trial detention, despite the serious crimes they were accused of.”
She addressed the photograph published in the media showing her with Mefail Shkodra, one of the suspects in today’s murders in Gjilan.
Osmani explained that “a simple check shows these photos were taken during a festive event organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Kosovo, on the occasion of a public activity attended by other institutional representatives, political figures, invited guests, and citizens.”
“Throughout the year, the President appears in photos with thousands of citizens and participants in public events, people she neither knows personally nor can be aware of their activities. Therefore, any insinuations about so-called ‘association’ are nothing but slander,” Osmani stated.
