Under the organization of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, the traditional “Darka e Lamës” (Harvest Dinner) was held last night, attended by ambassadors from friendly countries, as well as representatives of state institutions and civil society.

In her address, President Osmani emphasized that the land is the root that keeps every nation united, and the clearest proof that hard work and dedication bring prosperity and success. She reminded attendees that this event was initiated by the historic President Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, as an expression of his wisdom that a nation is strengthened through work, knowledge, and love for the land that sustains us.

President Osmani also highlighted the success of Kosovo’s local products, which are now recognized beyond its borders — including the women’s “ajvar” from Krusha, wines from Rahovec and Suhareka, as well as grapes, honey, fruits, teas, and many other goods. She noted that these products are not only economic commodities, but also stories of passion, effort, and dedication of the people of Kosovo.

Concluding her speech, Osmani said that Darka e Lamës is more than a celebration of abundance — it is a moment of reflection and gratitude for work, unity, and the spirit of appreciation that defines the people of Kosovo.

She expressed deep gratitude to Kosovo’s allies, to security institutions that safeguard sovereignty, and to healthcare and education workers, as well as human rights organizations and civil representatives, all gathered to honor this cherished national tradition.

Darka e Lamës is a celebration of gratitude — to the worker, the farmer, to the abundance of nature, and to God for His blessings. It is a reminder that the strength of a nation is not measured only by its economy, but by its spiritual bond with its land and traditions,” President Osmani emphasized.
