President Vjosa Osmani has addressed the threats made by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who said he might declare Kosovo as an occupied territory tomorrow.
Osmani stated that Vučić can declare whatever he wants, but the permanent reality is that Kosovo is and will remain an independent, sovereign, democratic state with good neighborly relations with all countries in the region. She hopes Vucic’s words, which reflect his true mindset inherited from Milosevic, are being heard worldwide, especially by those who might be hoping that he, while pretending to be a sheep, is not a wolf inside.
“In fact, he is the same person who was Milošević’s Minister of Propaganda, who only thought about how to attack and destroy others. This is the only logic prevailing in Serbian politics at the moment, and I hope that as soon as we recognize and accept this reality, many of our friends in Europe will contribute even more to long-term peace in our region,” said Osmani.
She further warned the Serbian president that whatever he may aim for, he will face the determination of the institutions of Kosovo.
“The true face of Vucic is the one that threatens neighboring countries with occupation. There is no other Vucic, there is no peace-loving Vucic, but a Vucic who causes destabilization and aims to take the region backward, which we will never allow.”
“Whatever he aims for, he will face the determination of the institutions of Kosovo because there is no turning back, we do not allow a return to the past,” she said on Klan Kosova.
