During her official visit to Hungary, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, delivered a speech to students and professors at Eötvös Loránd University, where she discussed Kosovo’s foreign policy priorities, especially the bilateral relations between Kosovo and Hungary.
President Osmani emphasized the country’s commitment to Euro-Atlantic integration, stating that Kosovo is dedicated to becoming a full member of the Euro-Atlantic family of nations.
She highlighted the importance of partnerships with the United States, the European Union, and NATO as essential to ensuring regional stability and securing peace across the Euro-Atlantic space.
Speaking at one of Central Europe’s most prestigious universities, the President also underlined the key role of education as a bridge between peoples and as a foundation for long-term cooperation. She thanked Hungarian institutions and Eötvös Loránd University for their support of Kosovar students.
Recalling the historic ties between Albanians and Hungarians, Osmani referenced two iconic historical figures, Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg and Janos Hunyadi: “In the 15th century, Albanians and Hungarians stood side by side to defend European civilization. It was an alliance rooted in spiritual values and built upon shared principles such as freedom, identity, and dignity. Today, that inspiring legacy guides us in building partnerships that reflect a shared vision for a peaceful and united future.”
