President Vjosa Osmani has stated that she will continue holding meetings with leaders of political parties even after Thursday, May 15, in an effort to break the political deadlock.
She emphasized that everyone must prioritize the state’s interest, adding that the failure to constitute the Assembly jeopardizes the constitutional functioning of institutions.
“This is just the beginning of a series of meetings; we will continue the discussions, depending on how the discussions go tomorrow, we will continue either in that format, in similar formats, or in one-on-one meetings with party leaders. We are implementing our constitutional role. The non-constitution of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo precisely endangers the constitutional functioning of institutions, which is also the reason why I invited the leaders. I hope that everyone will engage by prioritizing the interest of the country,” President Osmani stressed at the press conference with European Council President Antonio Costa.
Osmani’s statement signals a sustained effort to facilitate dialogue and find a resolution to the ongoing political impasse that has prevented the formation of the Assembly following the recent elections. Her commitment to a series of meetings indicates a determined approach to ensuring the constitutional functionality of Kosovo’s institutions.
