The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, commemorated the 26th anniversary of the Lybeniq massacre in Peja, where more than 80 Albanian civilians lost their lives, as reported by Gazeta Sinjali.

Osmani stated that 26 years ago, the forces of the genocidal Serbian regime carried out one of the most brutal massacres against the people of Kosovo, leaving dozens of people dead.

“Among them were children as young as 18 months old to 17 years old, elderly women, and a pregnant woman,” she said.

“This massacre remains a painful testimony to the brutality of a criminal regime and an unhealed wound in our history,” wrote the President.

She further expressed that today and always, the victims will be remembered with honor and sorrow, while justice for them is being sought.
