Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, has paid tribute to former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright on the fourth anniversary of her passing, describing her as one of Kosovo’s most important supporters.
In a post on social media platform X, President Osmani highlighted Albright’s pivotal role during some of the country’s most challenging moments.
“Four years since the passing of Madeleine Albright, a great champion of freedom and a true friend of Kosovo,” Osmani wrote.
She added that Albright chose to act when Kosovo needed friends the most.
“When Kosovo needed friends the most, she chose leadership over silence and justice over indifference,” the president emphasized.
According to Osmani, Albright’s legacy continues to live on through Kosovo’s younger generations.
“Today, generations growing up in freedom in Kosovo carry forward the legacy she helped secure,” her statement read.
President Osmani concluded by noting that the people of Kosovo will always remember Albright with respect and gratitude.
“The people of Kosovo will always remember her with deep appreciation,” she wrote.
