Vjosa Osmani, the President of Kosovo, criticized Serbia’s approach, stating that its actions do not contribute to peace in the region.
These comments were made ahead of the EU-Western Balkans summit, where Osmani emphasized that politics should be based on merit.
“If we don’t want to discuss internal matters with Serbia, we certainly talk about the acts of aggression that Serbia has continuously committed against the Republic of Kosovo. I believe that merit-based politics should be applied to everyone in the region, and certainly, those who take steps forward based on merit should move forward. It’s not about considering what we are doing in the field of law enforcement, democracy, and the economy. While countries like Serbia attack their neighbors and then come to Brussels to talk about European integration. So, sitting on two chairs at once will not contribute to peace and stability in our region,” she said, among other things.
