On International Day for the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, President Vjosa Osmani stated that Serbia, even this year, continues to oversee mass graves of innocent civilians and hides behind propaganda claiming it is pro-peace.
Osmani emphasized that Serbia is violating agreements that have been reached.
“More than 1,600 people forcibly disappeared during the last war in Kosovo, many of them children, still remain the deepest wound of Kosovo. The genocidal aim of the Serbian regime was the extermination and destruction of our identity, of our future. By denying the truth, Serbia is continuously repeating the crime. By keeping archives closed, despite the Brussels agreement which demands otherwise, Serbia is also violating the agreements reached. The truth cannot be hidden behind propaganda that Serbia is supposedly pro-peace and pro-EU integration. The truth is one and only: in 2024, Serbia still lies over mass graves of innocent civilians.”
