Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has strongly stated that Serbia is the sole source of destabilization in the Balkans. In an interview with TRT Balkan, Osmani accused Serbia of attempting to regress the region with aggressive actions and terrorist acts aimed at destabilizing Kosovo and other countries in the area.

“Serbia has attacked Kosovo through acts of aggression and terrorism. Serbia has tried to destroy Bosnia and Herzegovina from within by destabilizing it. Serbia causes problems for Croatia and other countries in the region. It is very clear to all of us in the Western Balkans who the sole source of instability is – and that is Serbia,” said Osmani.

She emphasized that Kosovo would continue to defend itself and resist any hegemonic tendencies coming from Belgrade, adding that Kosovo would work closely with NATO partners to ensure peace and regional stability.

“Naturally, we will defend ourselves from all these hegemonic, imperialistic ideas that the leadership of Serbia has, which aim to take us back to the 1990s, to take us back to the past. We must look to the future. And the future can only be peaceful and stable if we can defend ourselves from aggressors like Serbia, which also brings the negative influences of Russia, China, and Iran to our region,” Osmani said.

The Kosovo president further highlighted that Kosovo and other regional countries are aligned with the foreign policies of the European Union and are working closely with NATO to contribute to both regional and global peace.

Discussing the military agreement with Albania and Croatia, Osmani stated that it was a natural step to strengthen Kosovo’s defensive capabilities, in line with NATO standards. She added that Kosovo is also engaging in discussions with other countries to expand such cooperation.
