The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, announced that she held a phone conversation with Dame Karen Pierce, the UK’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans.

In a post on X, Osmani said the discussion focused on Kosovo’s recent local elections, which she described as proof of the professionalism of Kosovo’s institutions and the citizens’ strong commitment to democracy.

However, the President raised serious concerns about Serbia’s illegal interference in the electoral process, emphasizing that such actions undermine democratic values.

“I expressed deep concern over Serbia’s unlawful interference in our elections through actions that strike at the very heart of democracy. Such destabilizing behavior must be met with a clear and united response from all our international partners,” Osmani wrote.

The conversation also addressed the next steps toward forming a new government and the strengthening of the bilateral strategic partnership between Kosovo and the United Kingdom.

“We also discussed the next steps toward government formation and the advancement of our shared bilateral strategic agenda,” she added.
