Ahead of the planned visit by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to Kosovo, President Vjosa Osmani emphasized that stability in Kosovo is a key factor for the security of the entire region. She stressed that continued joint engagement with KFOR and NATO remains essential to ensure peace and stability in the region.
Osmani made this statement during a meeting with the Commander of KFOR, Major General Enrico Barduani.
“President Osmani also highlighted that our continent is facing a complex geopolitical situation, which requires close cooperation and constant coordination with our allies,” the statement from the Presidency read.
The discussions also focused on coordinating activities in preparation for Rutte’s anticipated visit to Kosovo, which underscores the importance of NATO’s role in maintaining peace and security in the country.
Reports indicate that Rutte will visit Kosovo on March 11. During his visit, he is expected to be accompanied by ambassadors from NATO member countries that are part of the North Atlantic Council. NATO has yet to officially announce the visit.
Rutte had previously confirmed his visit during a debate held earlier in Bratislava, Slovakia.
