The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, stated that the goal of Serbia’s genocidal regime was the extermination of the Albanian people.
She made this declaration during the commemoration of the Lybeniq massacre.
According to Osmani, Lybeniq remains an open wound in the collective memory, but also a testament to resilience and the price of freedom.
Full statement:
“In Lybeniq, Serbian forces massacred even children in cradles, pregnant women, and immobile elderly people. There it was once again proven that the goal of Serbia’s genocidal regime was the extermination of our people.
But they did not succeed! Today, the families of those killed in Lybeniq, between pain and pride, carry the responsibility to protect the state built on sacrifice—as we all do. Lybeniq remains an open wound in our collective memory, but also a testament to our resilience and the price of freedom.
Justice for the victims is a moral, human, and state obligation.
Eternal glory to the martyrs and heroes of Lybeniq!”
