Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, will officially hand over her duties to Parliament Speaker Albulena Haxhiu on Saturday, according to a statement from the Presidency issued Friday evening.
The handover ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Presidency cabinet at 16:00.
Haxhiu will assume the role of Acting President, as the Assembly has not yet elected a new head of state. Under the Constitution, she can hold this position for a maximum period of six months.
The transition comes amid ongoing political developments, with institutions yet to reach consensus on the country’s next president.
