Vjosa Osmani has announced that she will invite leaders of political parties for consultations on the date of new elections, shortly after issuing the decree to dissolve the Assembly of Kosovo.
Speaking at a press conference, the president confirmed that meetings with party representatives will begin immediately, as required by constitutional procedures following the dissolution of the parliament.
“Today I will invite the leaders of political parties to consultations regarding the election date, because it is an obligation to consult beforehand and a necessary step immediately after the dissolution of the Assembly and the announcement of elections,” Osmani said.
The consultations are expected to determine the timeline for the next parliamentary elections, after the political deadlock that led to the collapse of the legislative process and the inability to elect a new president.
The dissolution of the Assembly marks a new political phase in Kosovo, with institutions now moving toward organizing fresh elections in accordance with constitutional procedures.
