President Vjosa Osmani of Kosovo met today with Abdullah Eren, head of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), to discuss strengthening development cooperation between Kosovo and Türkiye across various sectors.
During the meeting, President Osmani expressed deep gratitude for TİKA’s contributions to Kosovo’s development for more than two decades. She highlighted that the agency’s projects have significantly improved cultural infrastructure, education, and healthcare throughout the country.
President Osmani offered special thanks for Türkiye’s support in building the Center for Children with Down Syndrome and Autism in Pristina, emphasizing its lasting impact on the lives of families and children in need.
In her remarks, Osmani described Türkiye as “a true friend and strategic partner of Kosovo”, noting that “Türkiye has stood by our people in every phase — from the post-war period until today.” She added that the friendship between the two nations is rooted in mutual respect, solidarity, and shared values.
President Osmani also congratulated Abdullah Eren on his appointment as TİKA’s president, wishing him success and expressing her commitment to continuing the fruitful bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
She also acknowledged TİKA’s humanitarian and infrastructure assistance provided immediately after the war, when Kosovo was rebuilding from destruction, as well as its work in restoring historical sites that help preserve the country’s multicultural heritage.
In conclusion, Osmani underlined the importance of supporting initiatives for children with special needs, orphans, marginalized groups, and all those in need of social support — a priority she said remains central to her presidency.
