Osmani: U.S. Presence within KFOR Vital for Kosovo

President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, met yesterday with outgoing commander of KFOR’s Eastern Regional Command, Colonel Jonathan Lloyd of the Louisiana National Guard, and his successor, Colonel Sam Sargeant.

During the meeting, President Osmani thanked Colonel Lloyd for his dedicated service and commitment during his tenure in Kosovo, highlighting his significant contribution to strengthening security and stability in the country and the region. In recognition of his service, she presented him with a certificate of appreciation.

President Osmani also welcomed Colonel Sargeant, assuring him of full support from Kosovo’s institutions in carrying out his mandate and KFOR’s NATO-led mission.

The President emphasized the critical importance of the continued presence of the U.S. Armed Forces in Kosovo as part of KFOR, describing it as essential for peace, security, and stability in the country and the wider region.

She further stated that Kosovo will always remain grateful to the United States for its unwavering support at every stage.
