President Vjosa Osmani has hailed Kosovo’s inclusion among the 20 founding states that signed the Charter of the Peace Board in Davos as a direct recognition from the United States and President Donald Trump for the country’s progress and contributions to peace.

In an interview with RTK, Osmani emphasized that being part of the founding of this international peace initiative underscores the strategic partnership between Kosovo and the U.S.

“The fact that the U.S. has selected the Republic of Kosovo among the 20 founding members at today’s signing ceremony reflects the high regard President Donald Trump and the United States hold for Kosovo and our role in promoting peace,” Osmani stated from the Kosovo House at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The president highlighted that standing with and alongside the United States reflects a sense of belonging, noting that Kosovo has consistently clarified its Euro-Atlantic orientation.

“For Kosovo, any membership in international organizations is significant, but it becomes even more historic when it comes from our strategic allies. In this case, from the U.S., the ally that has stood with Kosovo through its most challenging times and continues to do so as we achieve new successes for our country and our people,” she said.

Osmani also expressed confidence that the Peace Board will become one of the most important modern institutions, directly impacting conflict zones worldwide. She emphasized that Kosovo’s state-building experience serves as an exemplary model.

“Kosovo, with its experience in building and maintaining peace, achieving freedom, democracy, and independence, is one of the best examples of how to establish a state, peace, and alliances. From our experience, we have much to offer, and we are deeply grateful to President Trump and the U.S. for selecting Kosovo as one of the states to lay the foundations of this organization,” Osmani added.

The president confirmed that with the constitution of the new Kosovo Assembly, the agreement will be submitted to legislators for ratification. She also expressed pride in representing Kosovo alongside Albania in this international initiative.

At the Kosovo House during the World Economic Forum, Osmani highlighted the opportunity to showcase Kosovo’s achievements and potential, including its diaspora, to world leaders, reinforcing the country’s commitment to peace, diplomacy, and international collaboration.

Kosovo participates as a founding member with full rights, marking a historic step in its engagement in international peace-building efforts.
