The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, currently visiting the United States at the invitation of the U.S. Congress to attend the spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, delivered a speech at a dinner organized by the U.S. Congress and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
Addressing senior leaders of the Congress and representatives of NATO member countries, President Osmani emphasized that peace is not inherited but must be continuously built, maintained, and defended.
“Today, I represent a free and sovereign Kosovo, a land once devastated by war but now speaks the language of peace, hope, and gratitude. American soldiers and NATO allies came to Kosovo not for glory but because they believed in the fundamental right of every person to live free from oppression,” President Osmani said.
She added: “In our most fragile moments, they offered us shelter not only for our homes but also for our dreams. Thanks to them, the children of Kosovo finally sleep safely. Thanks to them, a state rose from the ashes.”
In this context, President Osmani stated that the American soldiers who came in uniform and stood firmly with Kosovo will always have a home here.
