Ousmane Dembélé has been crowned with the Ballon d’Or, officially joining the ranks of the greatest names in world football.
The PSG forward received the award from Brazilian legend Ronaldinho in a magical evening full of emotion.
“Thank you everyone. What happened to me is unbelievable. I’m speechless. It has been an extraordinary season with PSG, and I have experienced wonderful things. Winning this trophy and having Ronaldinho present it to me is something truly special,” Dembélé said.
He especially praised Paris Saint-Germain and coach Luis Enrique, whom he credits for his career peak.
“I want to thank PSG, who brought me here in 2023. The president, the whole team, and the staff who are like a wonderful family. Luis Enrique has become like a father to me; he has been very important for my career. Thanks also to all my teammates, because while this is an individual award, in truth, we won it together as a team,” the Frenchman added.
Dembélé also reflected on earlier stages of his career, expressing gratitude to his former clubs.
“Thanks to Rennes, Dortmund, and Barcelona, the club I always dreamed of playing for. There I had the chance to learn from players like Messi and Iniesta. I have always worked for the team to win big trophies such as the Champions League and Ligue 1. Now, taking this trophy home is unbelievable,” he underlined.
He closed his speech with a heartfelt message to those closest to him:
“Thanks to my family, my mother, my agent, and my best friend who has always stood by me. This trophy belongs to them as well,” he concluded.
This triumph comes after a brilliant season with PSG, where Dembélé was decisive in both domestic and European success.
