More than 19,000 citizens have signed a national petition in support of four former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), who are currently facing trial at The Hague.
The petition was initiated by the Association of Former KLA Members (OVL e UÇK-së), requesting that decisions regarding Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi be based solely on evidence and facts presented in court, without political influence.
The document also calls for dignified treatment and full respect of the accused’s rights, including the possible lifting of pre-trial detention due to the length of the proceedings.
