The Government of Kosovo held its latest meeting, approving several key decisions:
- Defense Cooperation with the U.S.: Approval of the initiative for a Framework Agreement on Defense Cooperation between Kosovo and the United States. The agreement aims to enhance defense planning, strategic resilience, and military capability development.
- Healthcare Sector Appointments: Formation of an Ad hoc Commission for the Professional Evaluation of candidates for senior management positions, including the Chief Health Inspector at the Health Inspectorate and the Executive Director of the Kosovo Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices.
- Public Property Administration: Approval of the regulation on the internal organization and functioning of the Office for Public Property Administration within the Prime Minister’s Office.
- Infrastructure and Expropriation Projects:
- Approval of expropriation requests for public interest projects, including the Solid Waste Management Program (II-IV), which involves closing the current landfill and establishing a new sanitary landfill in Peja.
- Preliminary approval for expropriations related to public cemetery projects and a sports field in Dobërçan, Gjilan.
- Expropriation approval for projects in Hani i Elezit, such as football field reconstruction, water factory property regulation, a new Cultural and Youth Center, and road expansion near the Customs Terminal.
- Approval for expropriations to establish a kindergarten, green space, and road infrastructure in Gjilan.
- Disability Rights Strategy (2025-2030): Adoption of a strategy and action plan to improve social services, inclusive education, and accessibility for people with disabilities.
- Financial and Budgetary Adjustments: Approval of amendments to the General Grant Allocation Appendix to reflect new census data published by the Kosovo Agency of Statistics in 2024.
- Cross-Border Cooperation Agreements:
- Approval of a partnership agreement for technical assistance under the Albania-Kosovo Cross-Border Cooperation Program (IPA II 2021-2027).
- Approval of a partnership agreement under the IPA III Montenegro-Kosovo Cross-Border Cooperation Program (2021-2027).
- Agriculture and Environmental Protection:
- Approval of a Concept Document for Organic Agriculture to promote sustainable farming and ensure high-quality food production.
- Approval of a Concept Document for Plant Health, proposing a new legislative framework for plant production.
- Classified Information Security Agreement with Slovenia: Approval of an agreement to exchange and protect classified information, strengthening bilateral security cooperation and supporting Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic integration.
