Ozkan Ulutash has officially taken over as the 30th Commander of KFOR in Kosovo, succeeding Major General Enrico Barduani, the 29th commander of the mission.
The handover ceremony was attended by Kosovo’s top officials, including President Vjosa Osmani, acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, former President Atifete Jahjaga, and Assembly Speaker Dimal Basha.
During the ceremony, President Osmani thanked KFOR for its service in Kosovo, emphasizing the country’s alignment with freedom and democratic values. She highlighted that Kosovo’s aspiration to join NATO reflects the nation’s identity and commitment to collective security.
“Kosova will always be grateful for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to peace… Our aspiration to join NATO is not merely a strategic choice, but a reflection of who we are,” Osmani said.
The ceremony marked a significant moment for Kosovo’s security and NATO partnership, underlining continued cooperation and dedication to regional stability.
