Parachutist from North Macedonia Lands in Albania Due to Storm, Rescued by Border Services

An unusual incident occurred today in the Pogradec region, where a parachutist from North Macedonia experienced an aerial accident due to a storm in the area.

As a result of strong winds, the parachutist’s flight deviated, and he landed in the village of Alarup, Pogradec.

Immediately after the report from the commander of St. Naum in North Macedonia, the Korçë Regional Directorate of Border and Migration Services responded quickly, arriving at the scene. They located the parachutist and established contact with him. The athlete, identified as citizen V. P., was in good condition and sustained no injuries.

“Thanks to the efforts of the Korçë Border and Migration Services, it was possible to transfer this citizen to the Tushemisht Border Crossing Point, from where he returned safely to North Macedonia,” the police statement said.

The athlete expressed gratitude to the State Police services for their prompt response and the professionalism demonstrated during the rescue operation.
