Today, the Assembly of Kosovo is scheduled to hold the session for electing the country’s new Government.

On the final day of the 15-day constitutional deadline to conclude this process, the Assembly will convene at 14:00 to review and vote on the new government cabinet.

Before this, at 11:00, another session has been called, featuring several items on the agenda, including the formation of parliamentary committees, the first reading of the draft law on budget allocations, approval of the budgets for three municipalities (Prishtina, Gjilan, and Zubin Potok), the issue of funding for Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK), as well as the ratification of several international agreements.

The nominee for forming the Government, LVV deputy leader Glauk Konjufca, has not yet confirmed whether he has secured the necessary votes to form the new cabinet.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) have all stated that they will not vote for LVV’s second nominee, Glauk Konjufca, to establish the new institutions.

On the day he was nominated, Konjufca called on the other political parties to set aside grudges and vote for a temporary government until April next year—when the term of the current President, Vjosa Osmani, expires.
However, the major Albanian parties have made it clear that they do not support him.
