With the constitutional deadline to elect a new president approaching, political activity has intensified in the Assembly of Kosovo. The parliamentary groups of Self-determination Movement (LVV) and Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) are holding internal meetings to discuss the situation surrounding the presidential vote.

According to reports, the last hours before the deadline have triggered increased coordination among political parties, as the country waits to see whether lawmakers will succeed in electing a new head of state or face further institutional uncertainty.

Sources indicate that several PDK deputies were contacted by Family Minister Andin Hoti, whose name has also been mentioned as a possible candidate proposed by LVV for the presidency. The speculation comes after Glauk Konjufca reportedly declined the possibility of taking the role.

Meanwhile, LVV is expected to convene its parliamentary group meeting, while PDK’s parliamentary group is scheduled to gather at 14:00 at the Assembly offices in Prishtina.

Observers say the meetings could prove decisive, as any formal nomination and potential agreement among parties must occur quickly in order to avoid a deeper political stalemate.
