A section of Prishtina has been left without water supply for more than 24 hours following an unexpected failure in the city’s water distribution network.
According to the official announcement from the Regional Water Company “Prishtina,” the affected areas include: Gjergj Balsha Street, Ferid Curri Street, the area surrounding the U.S. Embassy, and businesses along the main highway from the “Ismeti” roundabout to “Euro Goma”.
Local residents stated that they have been without water since yesterday and expressed growing concern over the prolonged shortage especially during the peak of the summer heatwave. Many are calling for swift intervention from responsible authorities.
In a public statement, the water company confirmed that technical teams are on the ground working to resolve the issue:
“We inform the public that due to an unexpected defect in the water supply network, there will be an interruption in the water supply until the problem is resolved,” the company stated.
No official timeline has been given for the full restoration of water service.
