“Zubin Potok, 22–25.11.2025 – NN. It was reported that unknown persons damaged a section of the Ibër-Lepenc canal (bypass) using hard tools,” reads the 24-hour police report.
The case has been classified as “destruction or damage to property”, and investigations are ongoing to identify the perpetrators and clarify the motives behind the incident.
The damage comes shortly before the first anniversary of the 29 November 2024 terrorist attack on the same canal, when 20 kilograms of explosives had been planted.
The Ibër-Lepenc canal is a critical infrastructure, supplying water from Lake Ujmani to northern Kosovo, the Mitrovica and Prishtina regions, as well as the Kosovo Energy Corporation for cooling its thermal power plants.
