Pastrimi” Halts Garbage Collection in Prishtina Due to Municipality’s €2.7 Million Debt

The Regional Waste Management Company “Pastrimi” J.S.C. has announced that it has been forced to temporarily suspend garbage collection services in the territory of the Municipality of Prishtina due to the municipality’s failure to pay its debts.

According to the official press release, the Municipality of Prishtina owes the company more than €2.7 million an amount that has remained unpaid for over five months, despite repeated requests and warnings from the company.

“For more than five months, the Municipality has failed to meet its financial obligations to the company, despite our ongoing requests and repeated warnings. This situation has made it impossible to cover operational costs and continue normal service delivery,” the announcement stated.

The Regional Waste Management Company “PASTRIMI” J.S.C. informs the public that due to the Municipality of Prishtina’s outstanding debt amounting to €2.7 million, the company is compelled to suspend the waste collection service in the territory of the Municipality of Prishtina.

For over five months, the Municipality has not fulfilled its financial obligations to the company, despite our consistent appeals and repeated warnings. This situation has rendered the company unable to cover operational costs and continue providing services as usual.

“PASTRIMI” J.S.C. urges the Municipality of Prishtina to take immediate action to settle its overdue payments and restore institutional cooperation to ensure the provision of essential services to the citizens of the capital.
