At its 11th General Convention, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) approved a 15-point Political Declaration, reaffirming its commitment to lead Kosovo toward recovery and sustainable economic development, democratic strengthening, and full Euro-Atlantic integration.
Through the declaration, PDK calls on citizens in Kosovo and the diaspora to join its mission of hope and development for the future of the Republic of Kosovo.
PDK urges the urgent formation of central institutions that will take on the political and civic responsibility of governing the country.
The party has begun mobilizing all its structures at every level in preparation for the October 12 Local Elections, pledging to offer citizens across all municipalities a model of effective governance that delivers results and keeps its promises.
The declaration also emphasizes PDK’s commitment to guaranteeing the independence of the judiciary, media, and independent agencies—stating that any attempt to undermine these pillars of society threatens the foundations of democracy and pushes the country toward autocracy.
Furthermore, PDK expressed deep indignation over the conduct of judicial proceedings at the Special Chambers in The Hague against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, Rexhep Selimi, and other accused individuals.
PDK commits to reestablishing strategic alignment with NATO and the United States, and calls for the return to a goal of reaching a final agreement with Serbia that includes mutual recognition.
The party also pledges to ensure public sector employees are paid salaries that provide dignity and welfare for them and their families, while promising special care for war veterans, pensioners, and other budget-supported categories.
Finally, PDK remains dedicated to empowering women and youth, aiming for 50/50 gender representation in all levels of decision-making.
