The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) announced today that it has submitted an official complaint to the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP) regarding irregularities reported at the Municipal Counting Center in South Mitrovica.
The party is demanding a re-vote in this municipality, emphasizing that this step aims to protect the integrity of the electoral process and the citizens’ free will.
“This action was taken in accordance with the law and with the purpose of safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process and the free vote of Mitrovica’s citizens. PDK assures the citizens of Kosovo, especially those of Mitrovica, that it will responsibly pursue all legal procedures to ensure that the final result reflects the real will of the people. We firmly believe that only a re-vote will ensure justice for the electoral process and the citizens’ will. The vote is sacred — democracy begins and ends with its protection and respect,” PDK’s statement reads.
PDK stressed that the complaint was submitted within the legal deadline and reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and fairness.
“The Democratic Party of Kosovo, in defense of the citizens’ will, has today formally filed its complaint with ECAP, within the legal timeframe. Our goal remains the protection of the integrity of every single vote and the guarantee that democracy in Kosovo stands firm on the principles of fairness and legitimacy.”
