The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), led by Bedri Hamza, hosted a meeting with Elisa Spiropali, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, to discuss Kosovo’s political developments and deepen bilateral cooperation.

Hamza expressed gratitude for Albania’s continued support of Kosovo, highlighting its role in amplifying Kosovo’s voice in international forums and reinforcing its diplomatic presence. “Albania has always stood by Kosovo during key moments of state-building. Its diplomatic support is invaluable and should be further strengthened,” Hamza stated.

The discussions also focused on Kosovo’s political situation, with PDK affirming its openness to constructive collaboration on matters of national interest. Minister Spiropali reiterated Albania’s unwavering support for Kosovo and stressed the importance of continuous coordination at the international level.

Hamza welcomed an invitation from Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania, to cooperate in preventing injustices and countering attempts to rewrite history related to the Kosovo Liberation War in the Specialist Chambers in The Hague. “The historical truth of our liberation struggle must not and cannot be relativized. Institutional and academic cooperation between Kosovo and Albania is essential to defend it with evidence, documentation, and international presence,” he emphasized.

Concrete proposals included the creation of a joint agenda through roundtables, international conferences, institutional engagement, and initiatives for debates and resolutions in the Council of Europe (Council of Europe).

The PDK reiterated its commitment to strengthening Kosovo-Albania cooperation in support of the national and state interest.
