Following President Vjosa Osmani’s decision to set April 15 as the date for Kosovo’s constitutive parliamentary session, PDK MP-elect Abelard Tahiri has emphasized the urgency of forming a new government.

Tahiri insists that Kosovo needs a swift transition to a government led by PDK’s Bedri Hamza, advocating for a shift away from the governance of the past four years.

“Kosovo can do better with a government led by Bedri Hamza, one capable of effectively addressing the many challenges ahead. The people have spoken clearly with their votes. Now, it’s time for concrete and responsible institutional action,” Tahiri wrote on social media.

He outlined several pressing national issues, including:

  • Soaring cost of living, making basic expenses unbearable for many families.
  • Deteriorating public safety, marked by a surge in serious crimes and homicides.
  • EU sanctions on Kosovo, which he argues are harming Kosovo’s international standing and jeopardizing its Euro-Atlantic future.

Tahiri’s statements come amid ongoing coalition negotiations, as Kosovo’s political landscape reshapes following the recent parliamentary elections.
