Newly sworn-in MP of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Mërgim Lushtaku, addressed the media shortly before the start of the 28th attempt to hold a constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly.
Lushtaku placed blame on the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV) for the continued deadlock, criticizing the governing party for its lack of reflection and cooperation.
“I don’t know what kind of kurban (sacrifice) needs to be made just to hold a constitutive session and demonstrate unity. It’s clear that the majority is still being stubborn, showing no willingness to change its unconstitutional and unlawful behavior,” Lushtaku said.
His comments reflect the growing frustration among opposition parties regarding the ongoing institutional stalemate, which has prevented the election of the Speaker of the Assembly and the normal functioning of Kosovo’s legislative body.
