The Peace Board has officially announced the admission of Albania as a founding member of the international Peace and Stability Organization at the global level.

In its published statement, the Peace Board said it “welcomes Albania as a founding member of our growing international organization,” accompanied by a graphic featuring state symbols and the Albanian flag.

“The Peace Board welcomes Albania as a founding member of our growing international organization,” the statement reads.

The Peace Board was officially established on Thursday, January 22, during a special ceremony held on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos. U.S. President Donald Trump signed the charter of the new international initiative, followed by the founding members of the Peace Board—19 states that were present at the ceremony, including Kosovo.

Albania, represented by Prime Minister Edi Rama, did not attend the ceremony. The head of government stated in Parliament that he was absent because he chose to remain in Albania to receive Ivanka Trump, the daughter of former U.S. President Donald Trump.

Nevertheless, Albania’s accession to this new organization was also approved by the Albanian Parliament, with votes from both the ruling majority and the opposition.
