The Montenegrin police are working to identify individuals who published the personal phone numbers of President Jakov Milatović and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić on the social media platform X, the Police Directorate in Podgorica announced today.

“The public will be informed in due time once the identification process is completed, with the aim of establishing all relevant facts that will be assessed under the Law on Public Order and Peace,” the police statement, cited by FoNet, reads.

According to Vijesti, Prime Minister Spajić received multiple calls and offensive messages, while President Milatović was sent messages via WhatsApp, Viber, and Signal, reportedly from numbers originating in Serbia.

The messages were largely related to Milatović’s position on the installation of a monument to Chetnik commander Pavle Đurišić.

The phone numbers of Montenegro’s top officials were published on social media two days ago, triggering a wave of unwanted communication and prompting a police investigation.
