PM Albin Kurti was awarded a recognition from Ukrainian journalists who are sheltered and working in Kosovo.

The recognition was presented by Sergiy Tomilenko, President of the Union of Journalists of Ukraine, for “Significant contribution to the protection of Ukrainian journalists during the war, support for the international JiR program in Kosovo, and strengthening cooperation between media in Ukraine and Kosovo.”

“Kurti thanked them for this recognition, adding that supporting Ukraine’s rightful liberation struggle for freedom and democracy has been an obligation for us,” the statement read.

“He further added that, at the 216th Government meeting two weeks ago, in accordance with the request of the European Center for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF), we approved the request for three more journalists to come to our country through the JiR program, whom we eagerly await to arrive in Kosovo.”

The 49-year-old expressed his appreciation for their efforts, work, and ongoing contributions.

Also attending this meeting was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz.
